About Us
Sasol Ventures – Funding Innovation for a Better World
As Sasol transitions to a sustainable, fossil-free future; innovative technologies will support the transformation of our current value chains and the creation of new offerings from our chemicals, energy and ecoFT businesses.
Our role in Sasol’s strategic transformation is to investigate and invest in emerging technology solutions that enable renewable, sustainable and circular alternatives for our operations and customers.
The activities of Sasol Ventures will complement our Sasol R&D activities and foster collaboration with start-up companies, to enable and accelerate our transformation.
Investment ethos
Innovation aligned to Sasol’s strategy
Sasol Ventures invests in technologies that help to eliminate the carbon footprint of chemical and energy products, both in our current operations and in new value chains, including:
- Innovative Hydrogen solutions (across the value chain – production, storage, transportation and end-use applications)
- Enabling use of non-fossil carbon and novel syngas production
- New technologies to transform sustainable feedstocks to chemicals and energy solutions, also including biotechnology, electrochemistry etc.
- Supporting Circularity, energy transitions and electrification of our processes and in the application of our products
