Grievance mechanisms

Sasol provides accessible grievance and reporting mechanisms that enable employees, communities, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise concerns or complaints by phone or in writing. These channels are widely communicated through various platforms, including the Sasol website and local community publications.

Human Rights Assessment

Sasol enhanced the business and human rights (BHR) assessment component of its governance due diligence framework by further embedding human rights considerations into the onboarding and review of prospective suppliers, customers, and business partners across its local and international operations. Through these governance due diligence processes, Sasol seeks to identify, assess and manage potential human rights risks associated with its business relationships, together with other compliance and governance risks. This continued enhancement supports Sasol's commitment to respect internationally recognised human rights and to strengthen responsible business conduct throughout its value chain.

Human rights self-assessments were completed for Energy Marketing & Sales and Chemicals Marketing & Sales in 2022, followed by Mining and ecoFT in 2023. In line with the FY27 implementation plan, the remaining business units and sites will undergo assessments to further strengthen the integration of human rights due diligence across Sasol's operations.
