Sasol maintains a Code of Conduct that prohibits the use of slavery or human trafficking in its direct supply chain. Sasol does not tolerate unacceptable treatment of workers such as exploitation of children, physical punishment, or involuntary servitude.
Sasol expects its contractors and customers to uphold the same standards. Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable laws and regulations including those prohibiting slavery or human trafficking as addressed by the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010.
Sasol will continue to update its policies and procedures as needed to ensure that it has appropriate safeguards against any mistreatment of persons involved in its direct supply chain.
The California Transparency in Supply Chains Act (SB 657), effective January 1, 2012, requires certain companies report on specific actions taken to eradicate slavery and human trafficking in their supply chain.
As part of the Act, reporting companies must also provide a public statement regarding efforts to eliminate all forms of slavery and human trafficking.
Sasol respects the rights to life, liberty, security, and the right to be free from slavery, servitude, torture or cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment or punishment. Sasol wishes to make a positive and constructive contribution to the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labor and human trafficking. We do not currently engage in the actions described in Section 3(c)(1)-(5) of the California Transparency in Supply Chains Act of 2010. However, we do expect suppliers in our direct supply chain to comply with laws regarding human trafficking and slavery.
