Through proprietary technologies and processes the main products Sasol produces are fuel components, chemical components and co-products. From these main products and further value-adding processes we deliver diesel, petrol (gasoline), naphtha, kerosene (jet fuel), liquid petroleum gas (LPG), olefins, alcohols, polymers, solvents, surfactants, co-monomers, ammonia, methanol, crude tar acids, sulphur, illuminating paraffin, bitumen and fuel oil. Even further processing produces numerous additional products.

Sasol bursaries now open: applications invited for 2027 Engineering & Science studies
Sasol is excited to announce that applications for the Sasol Bursary Programme are now open. This performance-based programme supports exceptional young South African talent with funding and holistic support to pursue full-time undergraduate studies in Engineering and Science. Applications are open from 1 April 2026 to 17 May 2026.

Eligible Fields of Study
Applicants who will be enrolled for full time studies in 2027 at several South African Universities can apply for bursaries in the following disciplines:
- Chemical Engineering
- Chemistry (Studies to Hons. level will be required)
- Civil Engineering
- Data Science (Computer Science / Mathematics / Operations Research / Statistics)
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronic Engineering
- Geology (Honours degree mandatory)
- Industrial Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Mining Engineering
- Metallurgical Engineering / Metallurgy (Studies to Hons. level will be required)
- Mine Surveying (University of Johannesburg only)
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the bursary, applicants must be South African citizens by birth, reside permanently in South Africa, and be registered in 2027 for full-time studies towards an undergraduate degree at a Sasol-approved, public university in South Africa.
The following are the minimum requirements for application:
- Grade 12 results for first-year and second-year applicants
- Previous year academic results for second, third, and fourth-year applicants
- Full academic record from the start date of studies to present
- Proof of registration for full-time studies in 2026 if applicable
- Proof of permanent home residence (municipality and district)
- Willingness to undergo online psychometric testing
B.Eng. and B.Sc.Eng:
- Mathematics: Level 6 (70–79%)
- Physical Science: Level 6 (70–79%)
- English First Additional Language: Level 5 (60–69%)or
- English Home Language: Level 5 (60–69%)or
- English Second Additional Language: Level 4 (50–59%)
B.Eng. Tech: (Only for Mine Surveying)
- Mathematics: Level 5 (60-69%)
- Physical Science: Level 5 (60-69%)
- English First Additional Language: Level 5 (60-69%) or
- English Home Language: Level 5 (60-69%) or
- English Second Additional Language: Level 4 (50-59%)

Important Notes
Studies at the University of South Africa (UNISA) are not considered.
