The Sasol Foundation is inviting applications for its 2027 bursary programme, offering all-inclusive undergraduate bursaries to academically talented learners and students from Sasol's local communities, children of Sasol employees, and children of Sasol Khanyisa shareholders. The Foundation's bursaries aim to expand access to tertiary education for learners and students from low-income and missing middle households. Applications for the 2027 intake will be open from 1 August to 23 August 2026.
The programme primarily supports studies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, including Engineering, Engineering Technology, Information Technology, Data Science and Environmental Sciences. A limited number of bursaries will also be awarded for selected non-STEM qualifications, including Accounting and Financial Sciences.
Gao Mothoagae, Vice President: CSI and Sasol Foundation, said:
"The Sasol Foundation believes that education is one of the most powerful enablers of opportunity and long-term socio-economic development. Through our bursary programme, we continue to invest in talented young people who demonstrate academic potential but may face financial barriers to accessing higher education.
These bursaries are not only an investment in individual students, but also in the future of our communities and our country. We encourage qualifying learners and students to apply and take advantage of this opportunity to pursue their academic ambitions and contribute meaningfully to South Africa's future growth and development."
The bursary programme provides comprehensive support to enable students to complete their studies and realise their potential. Beyond financial assistance, bursars benefit from a range of wrap-around support programmes designed to enhance their academic success, personal development, and work readiness.
The Sasol Foundation encourages schools, educators, parents and community stakeholders to share the opportunity widely with eligible learners and students.
