The closing date for entries to the Sasol New Signatures art competition is a week away. Artists across the country are invited to submit their works to their closest regional submission point on Tuesday 15 or Wednesday 16 July 2014 between 10h00 and 16h00 on both days.
The Sasol New Signatures art competition is South Africa’s longest running art competition which continues to provide the perfect opportunity for artists to showcase their talent on a public platform. If attendance to this year’s information sessions is anything to go by, the judges anticipate a high number of quality entries.
“Interest in the competition has increased steadily over the years. This year’s information sessions were by far the most attended so we anticipate a record number of quality entries,” shared Peter Binsbergen, Chairman of Sasol New Signatures art competition’s judging panel.
“This is our 25th year of sponsorship towards the competition, something we are immensely proud of as a company. We look forward to seeing what new South African artists have to offer the industry,” said Richard Hughes, Sasol Sponsorship Manager.
To enter, artists must be 18 years and older and should not have held a solo exhibition before (a body of at least 20 works exhibited in a commercial gallery), with the exception of an exhibition held for academic purposes.
