Ever wished someone would recognise your potential and afford you the opportunity to be part of South Africa's art milieu? Does the idea of having your work showcased on a national stage and admired by critics and lovers alike, tickle your creativity? Then the 2015 Sasol New Signatures competition is the perfect platform for you.

Entries for the 2015 Sasol New Signatures competition are now open. With this year’s theme being, "Eye for Potential”, Sasol is challenging emerging South African artists who have the ability to see beyond what the naked eye can see, to create art works and launch their careers. The overall winner receives a R100 000 cash prize, the runner up R25 000, with five merit winners each receiving R10 000.

Artists who believe they have what it takes to make an impact in the industry, and have that extraordinary "eye for potential" are encouraged to submit artworks at one of several collection points around the country between Tuesday, 14 July 2015 and Wednesday, 15 July 2015.

Several information sessions, designed to give artists valuable information on the entry process, will be held nationwide from early May. 

“Receiving a merit award for my piece entitled ‘Rebirth: Haunted by the past’ in 2013, gave me the platform to present myself as an artist and further my career. The competition also enables one to network with other artists and see the diversity of art in South Africa,” says Theko Boshomane, merit award winner, 2013 Sasol New Signatures.
