Sasol Banyana Banyana arrived safely at the Union of Comoros ahead of their African Women's Championship first leg qualifer against the Comoros National Team. The match is scheduled for Friday, 23 May 2014 at 14h00 South African time.
The team held their first training session on Wednesday afternoon at the Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh Stadium in Moroni under extremely hot conditions which were a concern for coach Vera Pauw.
"Our training session since our arrival at the Union of the Comoros has gone very well and we are looking forward to the match this coming Friday. The ladies are very focussed and understand the importance of returning home with a win,” said coach Pauw.
“The heat is a bit of concern for us, with temperatures in the low 30’s but we will be well prepared for all conditions come Friday to ensure that we make South Africa, our sponsors Sasol and SAFA proud,” she concluded
The match will be played at the Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh Stadium in Mitsamiouli.
