Secunda, Mpumalanga – Under the auspices of Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and the Department of Health, Sasol has handed over an improved state-of-the art clinic in Extension 14, Embalenhle in Secunda, Mpumalanga.
Together with the National Department of Health, Sasol has upgraded a facility that delivers on government’s strategy in improving access to basic health care.
“Today the inauguration of eMbalenhle Extension 14 Clinic is a physical manifestation of our commitment to our host communities,” said Bongani Nqwababa, Joint President and Chief Executive Officer, Sasol Limited. “We believe that this facility will make a significant difference in further improving primary healthcare here, in eMbalenhle.”
To upgrade the facility Sasol, through its on-going social investment programme Sasol Ikusasa, appointed local service providers to undertake the R9-million project.
New features of the upgraded clinic include a reception and waiting area, four examination rooms, a dispensary and storeroom, and a kitchen and staff rest room. The facility also has four ablution facilities, a boardroom and two offices for the Manager and Senior Manager, a short stay room, brand new furniture and a security guardhouse.
Deputy President Ramaphosa accepted the clinic, accompanied by Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi, Premier of Mpumalanga David Mabuza, and Mpumalanga MEC for Health Gilllion Mashego.
