If your New Year’s resolution is to take on the mighty Comrades or Two Oceans Marathon, you definitely do not want to miss out on this year’s Sasol Marathon, a qualifier for both events. Athletes from across the country will converge at the DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg on 7 February 2015 with the hopes of achieving their best qualifying times.
Approximately 1400 athletes competed in last year’s event. The marathon comprises of a 42.2 km full marathon, 21.1 km half marathon, 10 km race and a 4.9 km fun run. The Sasol Marathon, with a relatively flat and fast route, caters for all fitness levels and ages making it the ultimate sporting event for family participation.
Comrades Marathon gold medalist and two time winner of the Sasol Marathon, will no doubt be aiming for a hat-trick this year. Find out first hand who the winner of this year’s coveted title will be.
Pre-entries for the 21.1 km and 42.2 km races can be done online at www.enteronline.co.za up to 4 February 2015. Late entries may be done on the day from 04:30 at the DP de Villiers Stadium.
