It has come to our attention that there are currently a number of fraudulent recruitment schemes, using Sasol's name, being run on various social media sites.
These fake adverts are for Learnerships and other positions, and encourage applicants to apply to web-based email services such as Gmail or Yahoo. A legitimate Sasol advert would never use such an address.
We are actively creating awareness of this scam on our official social media channels and website (www.sasol.com).
Sasol's recruitment process does not include unsolicited offers of employment, nor do we require advance payments from candidates for training, accommodation or booking fees. Sasol will only contact you from a Sasol email address, never a generic Gmail or mailbox address. This will only happen if you have applied for a vacancy through our career portal, which is accessible on our website, the official Sasol LinkedIn page, a registered campaign advertised in the local newspapers or if you were contacted by one of our authorised recruitment personnel or local recruiting office.
Sasol will not ask you to send personal banking information via email, nor will we ask you to deposit monies through Retail outlets via Mobile Money Service on a cellular account number, i.e. 063 8946 813. We will therefore not ask you to mail proof of payment to careers@sasol.com.
Please take note that there will be no intake of trainees starting in Secunda at Synfuels on 3 February 2016 and Sasol will not be contacting applicants with details regarding this.
If you suspect fraud, you are encouraged to alert Sasol by sending an e-mail to careers@sasol.com. Mark your email “Fraud alert” in the subject line. Alternatively please report such activity to your local law enforcement authorities.
