Sasolburg, Free State – Athletes, novice runners and families are encouraged to sign-up for the Sasol Marathon taking place on Saturday, 4 February 2017 at the DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg.
Celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, the Sasol Marathon is the perfect race for people of all ages and fitness levels. For the avid athlete, the event offers a 42.2 km full marathon or a 21.1 km half marathon. For families and children looking to enjoy some healthy, outdoor fun, there is a 10 km race and a 4.9 km fun run.
Commonly known for its flat and fast nature, the race attracts participants looking to achieve their fastest time. As a Two Oceans and Comrades Marathon qualifier, the race is an important feature on the athletics calendar. The venue is ideally located as it is just one hour south of Johannesburg, 15 minutes from Vereeniging, and a 10 minute drive from Vanderbijlpark.
Pre-entries for the 42.2 km full marathon and 21.1 km half marathon can only be done online at www.enteronline.co.za until 20 January 2017. Late entries will be accepted on the day of the race from 04:30 at the DP de Villiers Stadium in Sasolburg.
