Ezemvelo Women’s FC crowned as the 2024 Sasol League Champions
Ezemvelo Women’s FC made history by claiming their first ever Sasol League National Championship trophy. They stepped onto the field with determination and fuelled their dreams to victory. In an intense final, Ezemvelo defeated the University of Cape Town 2-0, with both goals scored in the first half, sealing their place as champions.
Sasol’s Senior Manager: Group Brand and Sponsorships, Nozipho Mbatha said, “This tournament is more than just a competition. It is about fuelling someone’s dreams, and we are proud to help these young athletes in every way we can. They have showed us how determined they were in chasing their passion and contributing to the future of women's football in South Africa.”
Other tournament prize winners included:
- Referee of the Tournament - Hloniphile Msezane
- Assistant Referee - Nolitha Mhlomi
- Goalkeeper of the Tournament - Kaydee Windvogel (UCT)
- Top Goal scorer of the tournament - Matshwantsho Dlamini (Kovsies FC)
- Player of the Tournament - Zamandosi Nene (Ezemvelo WFC)
- Most promising player of the Tournament - Mavis Maiacane (Super Strikers)
