Johannesburg, South Africa – Sasol has completed a pre-feasibility study into the Boegoebaai green hydrogen/ammonia export opportunity, which has confirmed that it has the potential to be technically and economically viable with successful partnering as one of the key enablers. 

In pursuit of partnerships, Sasol has appointed Mizuho International plc as financial advisor to support the international search for partners to co-invest and to complete further studies in this continent-leading opportunity.

Johannesburg – Sasol Oil, a subsidiary of Sasol Limited and the majority shareholder in the joint venture inland Natref Refinery, has been formally notified by its joint venture partner TotalEnergies Marketing South Africa (TMSA) that it has signed a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with The Prax Group to acquire its 36,36% minority interest in the refinery.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions including obtaining the applicable regulatory approvals, consents, and other authorisations.

Johannesburg – Global wind and solar company Mainstream Renewable Power has achieved financial close on their 97.5MW Free State solar PV power project.

This follows the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the long-term supply of renewable power to Sasol and Air Liquide at Sasol’s Secunda operations in South Africa, where Air Liquide operates the world’s largest oxygen production site.
