Sasol is aware of disturbing comments made on Facebook by an individual claiming to be employed by Sasol. These comments were made in relation to a number of recent tragic stories involving missing individuals.
Sasol can confirm that the individual represented in the profile, “Mbali Mazibuko”, is not employed by Sasol nor by any of our franchisee retail sites.
It’s very unfortunate that our name is being fraudulently used by this individual for their own ends on a shocking story.

Sasol’s statement on criminal charges pertaining to Secunda Operations environmental management
On Wednesday, 27 July 2022, the National Prosecuting Authority served Sasol with a summons instituting criminal proceedings. The charges relate to historical aspects of environmental management at its Secunda Operations.
The summons follows an investigation by the National Environmental Management Inspectorate (EMI), as an agency of the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE). Sasol fully cooperated with the authorities in this investigation.

Sasol and ITOCHU announcing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on green hydrogen and ammonia
Johannesburg, South Africa – Sasol and ITOCHU Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly study and develop the market and supply chain for green ammonia with a focus on its use as bunkering fuel and for power generation. The parties will also evaluate ITOCHU’s potential involvement and participation in Sasol’s green ammonia export-orientated project(s), including product offtake as well as financial support from Japan for studies and grants relating to green ammonia projects in South Africa.
